The New Nautical Motif for Window Treatments
American artist and conservationist Robert Wyland once said, “The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination, and brings eternal joy to the soul.” And indeed, for many the love of the ocean and all things aquatic extends to all parts of our lives including interior design where oceanic and nautical themes have long appeared in homes and coastal vacation villas. And while our love of the ocean has never faded, the way we reference it in design has evolved. The new nautical motif for window treatments embraces a more abstract connection to sea-loving themes that portray the mood and feel of the ocean through a modern aesthetic rather than being a literal interpretation of maritime elements.
